One line
Al Bear is a hip-hop artist from Humboldt County, California, making hard music with an open heart.
Long, about 150 words
Al Bear is a hip-hop artist based in Humboldt County, California. He grew up in Farmersville, in the Central Valley. Skateboarding, graffiti and hip-hop were his escape, and he came up on Bone Thugs, Three 6 Mafia and DJ Quik. The name came from a teacher who made a big impact on him.
He moved north to Arcata, where the hip-hop community took him in. Then a collaborator and a song changed his life. He built a foundation in his faith before bringing it into his music. He thought about leaving music behind, and he stayed. He calls the music his praise, and he would rather show love than preach at anybody.
His new EP, Bear His Pain, six tracks, came out on September 18, 2026. He plays sets of 30 to 90 minutes across Northern and Central California and Southern Oregon.
